This beautiful church is built over the grave of St. Olav, the patron saint of Norway who brought Christianity to the heathen Vikings, and has played a central role in the history of the city and the nation for almost a millennium. Inside visitors admire the impressive Romanesque and Gothic architecture with its lofty vaults, slender pillars and delicate ornaments. Join an exciting tour through some of the hidden chambers of the cathedral.
In the basement, we walk through the dark passages of the crypt, and explore the largest collection of medieval tombstones in Norway. A steep, winding staircase leads us closer to divinity as we climb up and into small, enchanting chapels dating from the 12th century. Join us on this spellbinding tour of beautiful Nidaros Cathedral, which was once the religious centre of all Scandinavia.
