The Experience

Travel through the spectacular landscape of the north-west of Spitsbergen. The region is a paradise for the nature enthusiast, located far from civilisation, and filled with enormous glaciers and sharp lofty mountains. During this challenging yet highly rewarding expedition, we will travel through a range of terrains, and there will be new challenges every day. Highlights will include passing the famous mountains ’Tre Kroner’ - the Three Crowns, exploring untouched areas of Haakon II Land and Oscar II Land, and the wilds of Trollheimen.

Practical Information

This expedition requires the participants to be physically t, as we cover 15-20 km a day pulling a pulka with equipment. Each participant should be an experienced skier and be familiar with camping outdoors in tents during the winter. We strongly recommend Nordic skiing equipment on this expedition. The participants are split into teams of two and you will each pull a pulka. The pulkas contain collective equipment such as tents, portable stoves, food and fuel for the whole trip. The pulka weighs 30-35 kg. Participants are expected to take part in setting up camp, cooking and polar bear watch during the night.
